Secret Spot Surf Lessons near Hossegor with me , Troy Ferry, as your instructor. This is the way that you and your friends or family can really give your surfing a push this summer when you stay with us at the Secret Spot Lodge. Let me introduce myself , i am the owner / director with my wife of the lodge. We also have another surf school that i am the sole instructor of Surf Lessons Hossegor. I will explain below how and whythe lodge came about and what we do for our guests.
Nelly and i have spent our entire lives devoted to the Ocean and beach life. We have both traveled extensively whilst living the dream. We decided to put roots down here in Nellys home. The region is without doubt one of the most stunning places we have ever been. For this reason after years of us both working in the surf and tourist industry we decided to put roots down here and bought the old ruin which is know the lodge. We decided to create a family friendly B&B that has a bit more to offer. The surf theme was always going to happen, so we created the Secret Spot Lodge. The lodge took a cool 3 years to renovate , then another few years of Nellys touch adding the final classy touches. We decide that family’s that dont want to rough it in a campsite could easily come and stay with us in luxury for the same price. The major addon to the lodge was being able to use my life long surf experience and as many years of teaching experience to offer top level surfing lessons for our guests.
So to give you a rough idea of whats on offer when you book a ‘Surf and Stay’ package or maybe just a lesson or 2 during your B&B stay, heres a run down of how our lessons work for our guests.

This has been a pleasure for me to construct a group lesson that truly escapes the norm in the area. Its a sad site that is seen all the time on the beaches around with massive groups. The ocean here is dangerous and you need to know that a fully experienced surf instructor / lifeguard is looking after you and your friends or family. Too often here you see 10 or more instructors lined up with 8 or more students. Thats 80 heads all withing smashing distance. Sadly most of the instructors are very young , inexperienced , very badly paid and usually with giant sized hangovers. They will stand knee deep in the water and whistle at the group like dogs. OK , this is an insult to the surf industry and i have gone out of my way to make sure a small fraction of you will receive the absolute best quality lesson on the coast. Our groups are small groups and carefully designed so that there is a similar level throughout the group. The best equipment is used and i will deliver the best quality surf lessons in this area , guaranteed.

Not all guests that come and stay want to surf in a group. Its the same principal as any private tuition , with my private surf lessons you will improve way faster. As i mentioned before i hold probably more qualifications than any other instructor on this area of coastline. With my 40 years + of surf experience and my 20 years + of surf instruction you can be sure that you are going to get you value for money. I pride myself in my profession and my communication skillls with our guets , and thats wher the key lies. Before the lessons we will have a chat so that i can find out exactly wher you are at. More to the point find out exactly where you want to go. During the one to one private surf lesson i will give you constant feedback and help you to adress any issues that you may be stuck on.
