Fire and Ice 2025 = Sauna and Ice Bath
Fire and Ice in 2025 is coming to the lodge for your enjoyment. What we mean is hot and cold , or Sauna and Ice bath. Since the Wim Hof explosion of breathing and ice baths , we have ourselves stepped into that icy world.
Yes the previous post mentioned how we have converted the pool to salt. While we are on the subject, it has to mentioned that, the salt pool was a massive success this summer. Anyway on the pool subject, we have been putting the pool to great use in the winters , since the discovery of the Wim Hof method. With the pool getting down to 8 degrees in the winter its ideal. Its been a few years for us ice bathing , and its fare to say the benefits are instant and impressive.
Obviously the summer our guests want to pool to a comfortable 27 degrees. For this reason we have added an Ice Bath to our list of luxuries for the lodge. It will stay at about 10 degrees and is fully filtered and chlorinated. The idea is to hit the cold for about 3 mins after raising you body temp for about 15 mins in the sauna.
Lets talk about the Fire side of things.

Yes We are putting a sauna in for you . Next to it will be an ice bath . Many have tried the traditional Nordic Sauna and some have tried the Ice bath, but not many have tried both. This is truly the key to a healthier way of life. The scandinavians have a long history of this practise, which is partly why they are all lovely and healthy people.
From a more medical based side , i have experienced the benefits first hand of ‘Contrast Therapy’ have been crippled by CRPS for almost 4 years. Although at the time Ice packs and hot packs on my knee weren’t very pleasant , it played a significant role in my early recovery from a crippling bone disease.
