Best swells ever , is how people are calling this month
The start of this month bought us as usual the Best surf for the Quik pro France 2014. Like clockwork the contest arrived with blue skies and amazing waves.
The months of September and October are world famous for being a great time for surfers and wannabe surfers to cash in on great waves and check out the pros earning they’re money in massive waves without the hectic crowds of mid summer. This October has been no exception. The top big wave gurus of France have said that this month has been the best month ever for totally perfect surf, and i think most surfers in the area would agree, with a general “surfed out” feeling running strong around town.
“The craziest waves I’ve seen in France” said Quik Pro contest director Alain Riou. This returnee from Tahiti knows his eggs.
“I felt like I was in Teahupoo, but it was longer. I have never seen barrels that big in France.” Said Alain “And yes I got flogged more than once! Those beachbreaks are so powerful.”
To co-inside with the end of season closing of the Secret spot lodge ,we had a run of crazy surf from the 14th-21st Oct. During this week we have surfed Lafitania and Mundaka in 1 day , VVF Capbreton at a crazy mutant 8 foot and back to Lafitania for another 10 foot monster day. Its has been the most epic week of surf in year :
